I did the math and determined if I made dresses for the girls to wear this summer, I could really save us a lot of $$ on clothes. Fabric is between $2-$4 a yard and a yard will make the girls a dress. And outfits even at Wal*Mart are at cheapest $7 each. So I decided I would make them clothes. Anyway, enough rambling, I got an easy pattern to start with and decided to make then Valentines Day Dresses! (See below). I also have 2 more that I just need to put the buttons on, and 2 that still need to be sewn together, it's just a matter of finding time during the week to get it done. Probably it'll have to wait until the weekend, but that's okay, the way things are going here it'll be forever before it's warm enough for them to be worn. After I finish these I'm starting on their Easter dresses (I got a little more complex pattern with gathering and a scalloped hem.) Then I might even try making some capris and shirts sets or just find a slightly different dress pattern. Anyway, here's the first of my collection!

Crazy Rogue kept running around and it was impossible to get her standing still in the dress, but you get the overall idea!

Congratulations Daddy!
Andy got the results of his Fire Fighter and Haz Mat Testing on Friday.....
And he passed all 4 tests!!!!
Yeah!
And he passed all 4 tests!!!!
Yeah!
Only 6 more weeks of school until he can take his EMT certification and he'll be able to get a new job! Hopefully one that pays better and allows us more time together! Anyway here are a few photos of his cake!
MMM
Jet was super excited, however, I'm pretty sure it was for the cake and not anything else :)
Rogue liked her cake, and when it was all gone she picked up her little plate and tried to lick the frosting off of it. She was so cute! I guess she's taking every advantage to eat her cake, I think this is only the 2nd time the girls have ever had any.
Train Weather
The weather was so nice last Thursday, we took dinner to Jet's favorite park, the Train Park! It's just about a quarter mile stretch between the river and a set of train tracks really. But it has a bunch of picnic tables, some cool historical statue things to climb on, and the river is always fun to look at and trains still run across the tracks so if you'r lucky it's a good time for all. Anyway after work I hustled home and made sandwiches and off we went. Everyone had a good time in the nice weather eating outside. Then we walked up and down a little, and to top it all off we got to see a train pass! That's the good part. Jet's not really satisfied until we see a train, so needless to say there have been days we've been there forever until one passes or he finally gives up.

Thank God for Frozen Pizza
Before I begin the pizza story would someone please tell my why when it is only January and Easter is not until April are these stupid eggs in stores already?!?? I love these things! I can resist them for a while but not 4 months!
And on to the pizza...there's not much of a story really, just another incredibly horrible day at work in addition to some outside horribleness too on Tuesday, even though I must admit my wonderful husband took care of dinner and the clean-up and the kids were great!
So for dinner tonight after yet another long day at work I cheaped out and we had frozen pizza, peas, and bananas. Can I cook or what?

Monday Madness!
What a day Monday has been!!! It was just an awful day at work! Some days I really wonder why I spend all day there when I'd rather be at home with the kids. Anyway, it was not good, I went in early to get ready for a big meeting, which went well for the most part other than no one had suggestions on what we're supposed to do next and my boss kept making weird comments. The I put data in that apparently I wasn't supposed to show yet and got told so in front of everyone. Then later in the same meeting got asked where other data was that wasn't done yet b/c it wasn't validated yet. Seriously Make Up Your Minds!
Anyway, then at home I thought it'd be a nice calm evening, but the kids had other ideas....
Does this look like the face of a little girl that would pee all over my bedroom carpet???
YES it does! Of course she did this while she was waiting on us to clean out the bathtub because her sister decided to poop in it...
Does this look like the face of a boy who decides he doesn't like his dinner so after he grudgingly takes his required bite, chews it then spits in on his plate along with a little extra???

And this from the same girl that decided to poop in the tub....earlier in the evening she was playing with some of her Bubba's planes on the couch when she got too close to the edge and fell off backwards. And of course the plane above was in her little hand, which was behind her head when she landed and cut it. And you know how head cuts are, they bleed everywhere! So she bled all over her white shirt. Never fear she is fine, just two tiny scratches from the plane's engines and I was able to get all the blood out of the shirt, not the carpet but at least the shirt.

Illinois Visit
We spent the last of 2008 in Illinois visiting Andy's family (Grandma Linda and Aunt Betsy, Schy and Henry, and Uncle Paul came in from DC with Maggie). It was a long trip for us this time, almost a whole week. It enabled us to relax a little before the long drive back home. We didn't do anything exciting really. All the cousins got to play with each other. The girls go to meet everyone again. They liked Aunt Betsy right away and then Uncle Paul, but it wasn't until the night before we left that Rogue would let Grandma Linda hold her. The weather was decent so we went to the park a couple times to let everyone get out some energy. And Andy and I even got to spend a couple hours out without the kids. Granted we were grocery shopping, but you take what you can get. For New Years we just hung out at Grandma's house and played the Wii and had Margarita's Betsy made us. Very relaxing and safe. Here are a few photos of our time there.

enjoying some nice weather
We finally got some nice weather after all the freezing stuff we've had lately, so of course we took th opportunity to run off some energy outside!
Rogue swings (look at her knees, she loves to get dirty, I swear she's a tomboy already)
Harleigh Swings (notice her dirt too!)
