Happy 8 months!

Well, we made it through another month with the girls. They are getting so big so fast! Now they're pulling themselves up and playing with big girl toys. They have quite the personalities now. Rogue really active and always wanting to be where the action is and Harleigh, quick with a smile, but still melllow and laid back. They both are really enjoying big people foods, especially crackers and breads, but also peas and carrots and mac and cheese. We're working on some fruits but haven't had success with much other than peaches. Size wise, I think Rogue is taller and around 16lbs maybe and Harleigh is a little shorter and around 17 lbs. We are having to switch them out of their baby carrier car seats and into big girl car seats because they are so tall their little legs stick out the end of the seats! As for moving around they're great at it, crawling everywhere, hand over knee (both girls) and getting into everything. One of their favorite places to go is into their "Bubba's" room to play with his toys! Harleigh loves to swim as long as you don't get her hair wet
Rogue loves to swim no matter what
Rogue practicing to walk
Harleigh wants to walk too!

Wordless Wednesday!

Talita Moves Away

This was my niece Talita' s last weekend in town. This weekend she will be moving to Florida to start attend high school. We went down to my parents place so we could spend a little more time with her before she leaves. The girls played with her, trying to convince her to take them swimming....
Harleigh told her stories on the couch
and she convinced her to slide with her....
Then the kids all enjoyed one last wrestling match before it was time to go home.

Goodbye Talita, good luck and we hope you enjoy high school in warm and sunny Florida!
The kids will really miss you and so will the rest of us. Can't wait to see you at Christmas!

A Quiet Weekend

We were able to enjoy a nice quite weekend at home this past weekend. For the most part that is. On Friday night my brother and his wife and her brothers came up to hang out and go to the movies and they stayed a little on Saturday to play with the kids. Also on Saturday, Jet and Andy had a boys day at home where they hung out and the girls and I went to Topeka to meet my mom and grandma and niece to get her some school clothes. She's moving to Florida in a couple of weeks to go to high school! Lucky girl! I wish we could just move to Florida. Anyway, other than that we didn't do anything at all on Sunday. I was great and relaxing before we had to jump back into the work week. Here's a few photos of what we occupied our time with... Jet and Daddy watched some cartoons
Harleigh and Rogue shared their toys
Harleigh sat on the couch and wondered if Uncle Jesse and Aunt Rel were ever going to wake up and play with her
Harleigh had some cheerieo's with Daddy
And Rogue played in the bathtub!

And one more detail from today.....Harleigh got her 3rd and 4th teeth!
Oh yeah, and the girls love big people food. Recently they've had mashed potatoes, peas, and mac and cheese. I'm hoping tomorrow to get them to eat some peaches!

A mid week post....

So I actually have time for a mid week post. Why you ask, the girls are asleep and Jet is in the bath tub with Daddy supervising. So here's what's been going on this week.... We watched both the home run derby and the all star game! Jet really liked all the home runs especially Josh Hamilton! Amazing 28 in the first round. The girls liked the game better, here they are above watching with daddy in their pj's right before bed.
Other than that it's been a very quite week, Andy's softball was off this week and tonight we were planning on going to Amelia Earhart Days in Atchison, but found out the carnival we were going to go to with Crystal and BJ and Ty wasn't worth going to, so instead we just hung out and relaxed, oh yeah and I convinced Andy we needed to rearrange the furniture in the bedroom! He was thrilled...
This weekend me and the girls are having a "girls day out" with my mom and grandma and niece to get my niece some school clothes before she moves to Florida to go to high school. Daddy and Jet are going to have a boys day doing I don't know what and that night we're going to Atchison to watch the fireworks.
Okay well, that's abou it for us for now.

Just a few more photos...

Thanks for the cool shirts Uncle Paul! We can finally fit into them!
Jet doing some reading over Daddy's shoulder
Harleigh having a biscuit with Granny
Rogue likes biscuits too! (No we don't make her eat off the floor, this is just what she and Harleigh dropped on the floor)

Harleigh and Moe

You might have noticed that Harleigh did not help with the dishwasher, she was a busy girl and had better things to do...... Like play with Elmo (check out her hair! I love her pebbles do)
She also met cookie monster
She convinced Nanny to dance with Elmo
She convinced Aunt Rel to play with her and her book
And she took a little nap with the elephant.

She was a busy busy little girl, and had a very good weekend.

Dishwasher!!

Hey what's this thing?

Daddy working under the sink

Jet helping Daddy cut some pipe

Rogue again, Daddy now can I please help you?

At long last my mom has come into modern times and has gotten a dishwasher! She's so excited, so this past weekend we went down so Andy in his plumbing excellence could install it for her! Jet and Rogue wanted to help him also.

And what a weekend it was! We were suprising my parents and just going to show up Saturday morning, except instead we suprised them with a phone call that we were stuck on the side of the road in the pouring rain in the van with no transmission!!! So suprise they came and got us and had the van towed to the mechanic. Then the dishwasher was a little tempermental to install and Rogue was crabby because she was getting her first 2 teeth!

Other than that it was a good weekend, we got the dishwasher installed, painted my mom's kitchen and she got 2 new cabinets and countertops! We even managed a little baseball with my brother and his wife and all of her family.

The girls are 7 months old now. They both sit well, Harleigh is working on crawling also, but Rogue still doesn't have any teeth, but we think it will be any day now. They are both eating lots of big girl foods, bread, crackers, cereal and they love ice cream! They're just getting big and doing good. I have no idea on actual weights, we'll find out at their 9 month check up!
