Pumpkin Fun

Jet wasn't so interested in the pumpkins especially the cleaning out the guts part, so he decorated the cupcakes instead. Harleigh and Rogue like the pumpkins though, they were like new toys....
They tried to taste them, and climb on them, and roll them....

"What do they think they're doing with us and this thing?"

"This one's just my size"

"oh, it's so pretty"

11 months and Mommy's job

Can you believe it??? They girls are 11 months old!
They're pretty funny now, lets see....
I have no idea on heights or weights, they're about the same in height, but Harleigh definately wins the weight category.
They both walk, Harleigh better than Rogue
Harleigh has 6 teeth and Rogue 4
Rogue talks (mimics) real words all the time. She knows uh-oh, thank you, da da and ma ma, and uh for when she drops something and wants it. Harleigh makes lots of talking noises but no words really other than mama and dada.
They think each other is hilarious and are always laughing, that is when they're not screaming because the other one took their toy...
Anyway now the good part the photos
Rogue trying to steal Granny's Pepsi for her before bed drink instead of milk
Harleigh loves her cup, we're not sure if it's because she can drink out of it or because it drips and makes a mess...

The girls playing in the wagon Granny brought before Daddy put it together (look close, they're in matching outfits, it won't happen too often!)
And for Mommy's job, I still have to interview, it was supposed to be over this week, but I don't even start until next week. I have 3-45min-hour interviews between Mon, Tues, Weds and then on Thursday I have to go to Omaha to complete my last interview. The guy that we're supposed to interview with is too busy to come to De Soto, so we have to go up there. What a pain! Anyway, so continued wishes would be good. I have to remember that it'll be over soon, but it's still a huge pain and really this is people's lives they're messing with, you think they'd have been a little more organized before they started!

Crap, Crap, #%(^(*#^(*%&, Crap Crap!

Well the guy from Omaha thinks he wants to move to KS. Therefore, I have to interview for my job. Even though I interviewed for this position 4 years ago and got it and have no desire to leave it. This is probably one of the crappiest things about working in the pharmecutical research and developemnt industry, you're constantly getting bought and sold. Anyway, they're not sure when the interviews will be, either late this week or early next week. Personally, if it were me I'd have everything planned and organized as to the interview and selection process, etc. before I told people they might not have jobs anymore. I guess that makes too much sense though. Anyway, sorry to be crabby, but well, I am. Wish me luck! I got the job once lets hope I can do it again.

I attached a photo of each of the girls having a bad moment. I sometimes wish life were this simple again! Harleigh Momma climbed onto the box, them it caved in and she was stuck
And that Rogy, I don't know what happened, that's just the way she woke up!

Building project

This weekend we had a big project..... We made Jet a loft bed.
Daddy and Jet building the ladder

Jet's a super helper!

So is Rogue...

This is where the girls did most of their helping, the safety of their crib, eating come crackers.
Now Jet can play/sleep up top and it opened some floor space in their sleeping room. Under the bed we're going to put a shelf and Momma's going to make some curtains to go across it so he can hide from his sister's in their and play with his big boy legos'. We're hoping to get it painted and the curtains finished in the next couple of weeks (depending on when Granny and Pops want the kids to spend the weekend). We're never going to be able to move again, because it's huge and will have to be taken almost completely apart in order to get it out of the room.
Oh well, He loves it!

Wordy Wednesday!

I know it's supposed to be wordless Wednesday, but well I have things to say.... Those crazy girls
Jet playing with his monster trucks during a break in the cruddy weather

Guess what Harleigh does!!! She walks!!! All by herself, more and more everyday! Of course I can't get a photo of her doing it, but I got it with the camcorder and that's the important part...right?

Thanks Grandma Linda! Jet loves his birthday present! We hope you're feeling better and recovering from your surgery quickly!

I don't know what it is about this drawer, but that Rogy baby loves to sit in it while I'm cooking.
And in other news, Andy got an A in his first fire class! Yeah! And only 6 more weeks until Christmas break. Also we learned that we'll know by Friday whether or not we have jobs, actually whether we'll have to interview to keep our places. My facility didn't lose any positions, however across R&D in the US we lost ~45. This means if someone in one of those displaced jobs wants to move to KS to work and is the same level, species etc as a job we have they can ask to be considered for the position then whoever they are and whoever is currently in that position has to interview to see who get's it. So here's to hoping no one wants my job!

Happy Birthday Jet!

Jet turned 4 on Saturday!
I can't believe it! Where did the time go....
Anyway here are some photos of the party we had for him... His "super cool" monster truck cake mommy made for him
Here he is trying to break open the pinata

Happy 5 Years!!

In an earlier post I told you that we had been too busy over the weekend to post anything. It's because we were celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary! How crazy to think it's been 5 years already! My parents too the kids for the weekend so we could have some time to ourselves, which we did nothing with really, just hanging out and a little shopping and of course we went out to dinner. But that's all the really how exciting the weekend was. So I thought I'd add a few photos to highlight the past 5 years.... First, what better to get at work but a huge boquet of flowers!
Our bachelor/bachelorette parties were on the same night and together, we just went to the Royals/White Sox game with our best friends Natalie and Kyle
The wedding was beautiful, we got married at home plate of the AAA field in Emporia. (This photo is awful, I realized I don't have many photos of the wedding on CD, they're all just prints)
Our honeymoon in New York, here's us in Times Square after we had gone to a Yankee's game

Then back to school for us, me to graduate school and Andy to get his athletic training degree

Then along came Jet Gabriel
And a year after Jet we graduated college (finally) moved to Kansas City and got real jobs

Then a sad time for us, we lost Andy's Dad and a baby we'd been expecting in the same week

But we made it through and had not one but two baby girls, Harleigh Kathryn and Rogue Alexis

And here we are 5 years (as of October 11) later, 3 kids, 3 degrees and Andy back in school getting his firefighter/EMT certifications, real jobs, and having a great time. It's not always easy, but it's always been worth it.

Thanks husband for being the best ever, it's been a great ride so far and I can't wait to see what the future brings for us!

Long Time No Post

So it's been over a week and I must apologize to our followers for the lack of posting (okay I realize there's only 2 that I know of, but sorry Grandma) So what have we been doing that's been keeping us so busy that I couldn't post photos.....Honestly not much, it's been more of a technology issue! One day I went to download photos and found our camera battery dead and it has a special rechargeable battery so you can't just change it, so I fixed that only to find the entire neighborhood had no cable, no cable means no internet so by the time they fixed that it was the weekend and we were busy! Jet and the girls went to my parents so Andy and I could enjoy an entire weekend to ourselves! Crazy, but it was great, I'll fill in more in a later post as the girls aren't going to let me do this much longer.....

Other than that, the kids played really good. Jet is counting everything now and pretty accurate so that's good. Harleigh is standing on her own lots and lots and she can go from sitting to standing without anything to hold onto. Rogue got her 3rd adn 4th teeth last week. They both discovered how to climb onto the couch and end table. And they spent some quality time playing with their Bubba and the zoo animals set he gave them.....

They love it!
See...
They also love to get in the basket it's stored in..
And what one does the other must do as well!
Jet working on some puzzles Nanny got him!

Enjoy and I promise new photos won't be so far away next time!

Pumpkin Huntin'

Today we went to the pumpkin patch in Platte City with our friends Charli and Megan and their families. It was a great time. There was a haybale maze, a corn stalk maze, a pick your own field and wheel barrows to help haul pumpkins (kids) in. There were also beautiful mums and lots of room for the kids to run and play.
